Phase 2: Ronan's Room is almost complete.

Rónan's room is close to being completed. My very good friend, modernista phenom, design guru, and wood working extraordinaire just helped me complete my son's changing table wood box top. When I say helped me, I mean Jaren Harbertson found the perfect wood, took NASA precise measurements, and constructed this one of kind in changing table top. I told him about my idea and he delivered a perfect finished product for us. Even more remarkable, Jaren had this box top done in less than five days. If you are looking for someone who truly comprehends the modern aesthetic, produces stellar workmanship, and delivers on time (long before our deadline), Jaren Harbertson and Modern Union in Salt Lake City are your one-stop connections to brilliant handmade modern (mid-century) wood products. Jaren can be reached at 801-597-2402 Jaren has worked on homes and businesses throughout the world. He has done jobs throughout the US, Mexico, Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. In addition, Jaren manufacturers unique kid's building blocks out of extremely high quality wood.
I also have to thank my amazing best friend with long-term super benefits, Erin. Erin has been amazing throughout this entire process (okay, I really did not have to do that much). In addition to being a super mom already, she helped me complete every single stage of Rónan's room. She did it all. She sanded, primed, painted, hauled, assembled, organized, shopped, returned, polished, researched, cleaned, designed, engineered, and nurtured while being super pregnant and running her own amazing store. Our bench is also one of a kind. I finished the cubic wood modern base. However, Erin did most of the work, found the fabric, and reupholstered Rónan's very unique modern bench in less than a week.
We still have some art, a mobile, and a vintage Concorde to hang. We also need to find a swanky rug, install a track light system with a dimmer switch, clean his dirty windows, maybe paint his shelf brackets to match the walls and oh, deliver Rónan. The hard part is done (for me at least, unless I start considering where I am going to find the bread to finance his college and medical/law school tuition).
I also wanted to thank everyone in my amazing family and all of our fantastic friends for the wonderful baby clothes, toys, fantastic gifts, and brilliant words of encouragement. Everyone has been so amazing to us. Erin and I have set a new standard in being very lucky, fortunate people.
